Poison Center
The Alabama Poison Center (APC) is a telelphone information resource for
both the public and health care professionals throughout Alabama. APC
is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation governed by a state-wide board
of directors. The center is staffed by qualified nurse specialists trained
in toxicology. Toxicologists and consultants in many fields provide back
up for the specialist in poison information.The center is located in Tuscaloosa,
Alabama. APC is always open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and has been
serving the citizens of Alabama for 20 years. Over 400 thousand people
have used this service.
Northstar
EMS
NorthStar and it's affiliates currently provide ALS ambulance service
to seven Alabama counties. In selected areas we also provide wheelchair
transport and Critical Care Transport services.
Temporary Emergency Services of Tuscaloosa County
Temporary Emergency Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families in crisis situations. Founded by area churches in 1945, TES serves Tuscaloosa County residents through United Way funds, donations from local business and individuals and church contributions. TES strives to assist individuals through crisis situations and help them based on their personal needs.

times of severe weather or other emergency needs by the means of Amateur
Radio.

Management Agency's goal is to lessen the effects of disaster on the lives

response, and recovery.

Established in 1878, the Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue Department has grown
in number to eleven stations with just over 200 members serving a metropolitan
population of over 164,000.
